Stand with Him

Right now, all across northeastern Syria, Assyrian men and women are leaving their jobs and putting their futures on hold to volunteer and protect Assyrians (and non-Assyrians) whose lives have been shattered by ISIS and the civil war in Syria. Almost all of these brave young men and women have children or younger brothers or sisters. When you support the Iraqi-Syrian Christian Children’s Relief Fund (ISCCRF), your donation provides for schooling, housing and aid for the afflicted Christian children of Syria and Iraq. When you support the ISCCRF, you give these fighting volunteers one less thing, one less little person, to worry about. Support the Children Of Iraq and Syria

The Restore Nineveh Now Foundation’s goal is to establish safe havens, a place of their own, for Assyrian Christians in Iraq and Syria. Essential to this goal is to safeguard the next generation of Christians in the Middle East, ensuring that they grow up. stay and thrive in their ancestral homeland. Today, however, the Christian children of Iraq and especially Syria are suffering. Because of the war waged by ISIS, children in Iraq and Syria live in a constant state of fear and uncertainty. To bring them peace and a sense of home and stability, Restore Nineveh Now is calling on everyone to support its Iraqi-Syrian Christian Children’s Relief Fund (ISCCRF). Working with established and trusted not-for-profits in Europe, Iraq and Syria, the ISCCRF will provide money for schooling, housing and utilities such as heat and electricity. Your support for this critical fund will bring immediate relief to the children and their families of war-torn Iraq and Syria. If the war is going to end in these countries, these children, this next generation, must know something besides fear and suffering. Please, support the effort generously. When you help the children, you help the whole community. For individual donations, please use the donation button below. For churches and civic groups, please contact us and we will send you materials to organize a fund drive throughout your organization. A Huge Step Closer

A Huge Step Closer

Thanks to months and months of hard work and the support of so many, we are one step closer to having the Nineveh Plains Protection Units (NPU) supported and backed by the government of Iraq and the United States. Over a year ago, the Restore Nineveh Now Foundation began working with the Assyrian Democratic Movement to advocate for the NPU as a critical feature in the re-establishment and reconstruction of the Nineveh Plain and the Nineveh Plain Province. Now, after countless phone calls, meetings and support from so many everywhere, the President of the United States has signed The National Defense Authorization Act for 2016. On page 221, section 1223 of the explanation of the Act, is the following: “The Secretary of Defense, in coordination with the Secretary of State, would be authorized to provide, in coordination to the extent practicable with the Government of Iraq, assistance pursuant to the Iraq Train and Equip authority directly to the Kurdish Peshmerga, Sunni tribal security forces, or other local security forces with a national security mission for the purpose of supporting international coalition efforts against ISIL.  We note that local security forces with a national security mission may include, in addition to Sunni tribal elements, local security forces that are committed to protecting highly vulnerable ethnic and religious minority communities, such as Yazidi, Christian, Assyrian and Turkoman communities, against the ISIL threat.” That’s a lot of verbage, we know, but did you see it? Assyrian Security Forces! This is a huge step forward! Not only were Assyrians listed specifically, by name, but their security forces were singled out, identified as a must-have part of the defense of the Nineveh Plain! Thank you to everyone who has help RNNF in its work on behalf of the NPU. Thank you to all of our volunteers who have logged so many hours in the cause. And thank you most to all the brave Assyrian men and women in the Nineveh Plain who are the backbone of the NPU! Now that the NPU is in the game, it is time to work even harder to ensure that they play their critical part in sending ISIS back to 7th century and securing the Nineveh Plain Province for all who call it their home. Let’s get up the hard work and support! To discuss a major gift or for details about the progress of the Nineveh Plain Protection Units, please contact by email and we’ll get right back to...

The Gozarto Protection Forces respond to Paris terror attacks

Posted by on Nov 14, 2015 in Help Right Now | 0 comments

In a statement issued today (see above), and sent to Restore Nineveh Now, the Gozarto Protection Forces (GPF), an Assyrian Christian force currently fighting ISIS in Syria, condemned the attacks in Paris by ISIS. In a written statement Ashur, the military spokesman for the GPF, said: “The Assyrian Christians fighting ISIS in Syria, condemn the attacks in Paris. We are praying for all of those killed and injured. We are fighting ISIS in Syria, and we know these violent people. We pledge to continue our fight against these violent Jihadists, and with the world’s help, we will defeat them and make Syria and the world a safer place for all of us.” Restore Nineveh Now applauds the GPF in condemning these horrific attacks in Paris. For over two years Christians in Syria have suffered at the hands of Islamic terrorists, and the GPF has stepped forward as a defense force for Christians, fighting ISIS wherever they find them. Restore Nineveh Now is proud to support the Christians in Syria who are fighting ISIS. Click here to see how you can help the GPF in their stand against the so-called Islamic State....

Paris Attacked

Paris Attacked

A map showing the locations of the attacks in Paris, November 13, 2015. Credit: UK Daily Mail. We at Restore Nineveh Now condemn, in the strongest of terms, the attacks in Paris. While no one group has taken responsibility for these attacks, they show all the signs of a larger plan of global Islamic violence and terror. As the authorities in France respond to these latest acts of terror, we want to urge people everywhere to support the effort to establish a province for Assyrian Christians and other ethnic minorities in Iraq who, too, have been suffering victims of Islamic terror for over one and a half years. Likewise, please help us support those who are battling Islamic terror in the heart of ISIS territory. Assyrian Christians in Syria, who are fighting to destroy ISIS, need our help. Click here to find out more about how you can help us fight Islamic terror and the ISIS...

Important Notice! Matthew VanDyke Attacks Christians in Middle East!

Posted by on Nov 11, 2015 in Help Right Now, Media, News | 0 comments

Christians in Syria held hostage and executed by ISIS In early November, Matthew VanDyke launched a hateful attack on Christians in the Middle East, the American Mesopotamian Organization (AMO) and the Restore Nineveh Now Foundation (RNN)! In a hate-filled rant, written strangely in big letters (to make it seem more important?), VanDyke blasted Christians in the Middle East who are fighting for their lives against ISIS, claiming that these Christians were anti-American and fighting with the Muslim terrorist group Hezbollah. Here is only some of what VanDyke wrote: “The GPF, backed by AMO and RNN, is a small, fringe group allied with the Assad regime, Russia, Iran, and Hezbollah, and does not represent the majority of Assyrian people. Many Assyrians are shocked that AMO and RNN are providing aid to an anti-American militia…” VanDyke did not offer ONE SINGLE PIECE OF EVIDENCE to support his bigoted attack, and has not even spoken with the Christians whom he accuses! To prove this, Restore Nineveh Now contacted Ashur, the military spokesman for one of the Christian groups fighting ISIS (the Gozarto Protection Force), and asked him about VanDyke and his hateful claims. Here is what Ashur said: “First of all, I don’t know this man, this is the first time I hear his name. We don’t work with Hezbollah, we are just a group of Christians whose goal is to defend our people in this land, to don’t drive them to emigrate, and to protect their properties.”   Can you get any clearer than that?   In addition to his strange and hateful idea that Christians are fighting with Muslim terrorists, VanDyke also accuses Christians in Syria of fighting for the Assad regime. As “proof” of this, VanDyke reproduced images of Christians who fight ISIS in Northern Syria holding the flag of Syria: Above: Christians who fight ISIS holding GPF and Syrian flags True, Syria is wracked by civil war, but Christians in Syria are still proud of their country. What the Christians of Syria might say to VanDyke would be something like: “Why shouldn’t we hold the flag of Syria? It is the flag of our country!” “Mr. VanDyke, don’t you know that the flag of Syria even flies at the United Nations? Is the UN fighting for Assad, too!” United Nations flies Syrian flag What VanDyke misses (or does not understand) is that many have flown the Syrian flag, including Riad Al-Assad (pictured below), the once-commander of the Free Syrian Army which is fighting Assad: _________________________________ The question is, of course, why would Matthew VanDyke try to hurt Christians in the Middle East? It could be that since VanDyke is not a journalist of any kind, and has no investigative skills that one can see, he does not know better. It is more likely that since VanDyke was dismissed by Christians in Iraq, the Nineveh Plain Protection Units (NPU), for his “strange and bizarre” behavior, so much so that he was asked to leave the NPU center and told to STOP using the NPU name and logo, that VanDyke is angry with Christians in the Middle East! But, although Christians who are fighting ISIS have repeatedly told VanDyke, “Please stay away from us,” his strange and hateful attacks can hurt them, and we need your help to stop him! Restore...

Assyrians need their home back

Posted by on Oct 28, 2015 in News | 0 comments

A large Assyrian IDP camp in Northern Iraq. Photo Credit, Jeff Gardner, 2015. A recent article in Catholic Vote, Kate O’Hare reported on a plan by Eastern Rite Chaldean Catholic Bishop Mar Bawai Soro (from the Chaldean Eparchy of St. Peter the Apostle in El Cajon, California) to team up with Las Vegas based private security company, Kingdom Special Operations, to build some 100 homes for Iraqi Christians. While Restore Nineveh Now supports needed humanitarian aid to Assyrians in Iraq who have had their lives stolen by the Islamic State, we cannot help but join the chorus of those who have questions about this project – the need that it aims to address and its goals. In the article, Mr. Roger Flores, the head of Kingdom Special Operations, states that their goal is to “create safe communities for Christian refugees away from Muslim-majority refugee camps,” but fails to say where, exactly, this is. When questioned about these details by readers in the comment section, Mr. Flores became hostile and defensive. A visit to Mr. Flores’ Go Fund Me page is no help either, with an undated photograph of Iraqis (are they Iraqis, Assyrians?) sleeping in a courtyard somewhere, and little to no details about in whose name Mr. Flores is collecting money.  Restore Nineveh Now has had its director of operations, Jeff Gardner, in and out of Northern Iraq visiting numerous Assyrian IDP camps. While there are certainly problems associated with these camps, hostile Muslim-majority refugee camps are not at the top of list. The greatest need for the Christians in Northern Iraq is to return to their homes, cities and lives. Restore Nineveh Now hopes that whatever Mr. Flores is trying to do that he will honestly, and with great transparency, help Assyrians return to their real...

Hands Off Assyrian Land!

Posted by on Oct 13, 2015 in Uncategorized | 0 comments

Throughout Syria, especially in the Northern region of Hasakah, militant Kurdish groups, like the YPG, have been systematically attempting to drive Assyrians from their lands and villages. This “Kurdification” of Syria has been condemned by international groups like Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch. This past month the  Assyrian Democratic Party of Syria issued a statement in which they too condemned the process of a Kurdish land-grab, specifically an unjust and illegal law passed by the Legislative Council of Kurdish Self Governance which claims the right to take control of land owned by those who have been forced to flee the violence in Syria. Below we have reproduced the full statement from the  Assyrian Democratic Party in both English and Arabic. Restore Nineveh Now stands with the Assyrian Democratic Party of Syria in opposition to this illegal and unjust attempt to push Assyrians off their land, especially in this time of war and...
